Maya has been dancing since She was very little and has been teaching for the past 5 years. Style She has trained in have included ballet, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, lyrical and tap. She has completed many exams, medal tests, competitions and recitals. Amy Horner is a seasoned dancer with an impressive 21-year journey in the world of dance. Specializing in the fiery rhythms of Latin dance, Amy's expertise spans across Salsa, Bachata, International Latin, and Ballroom , Ballet & Contemporary dance.

Amy's Latin dance journey is a rich tapestry woven with passion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. She has claimed the prestigious NZ Amateur Latin Champion title in 2017 and was the runner-up in 2016. Her accolades don't stop there; alongside her dance partner Enrique Johns, she has successfully defended the title of New Zealand Professional Latin Champions and reached the finals of the Australian Professional & Amateur Latin competition. Notably, they emerged as runners-up in the 2019 WDC World Cup's Shenzhen Asia Pacific Amateur Rising Star category.

Transitioning seamlessly from the competitive dance floor to teaching, Amy possesses a unique ability to transform dance enthusiasts into sizzling latin performers. Her teaching approach focuses on building strong foundational skills, nurturing growth from the ground up, and ensuring that every step of your dance journey is both enjoyable and motivating.

Amy's ballet journey began in 2003 with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, where she consistently achieved Distinctions in every grade from Primary to Intermediate levels.

Amy's experience extends beyond the classroom; she was a competitor at the prestigious Alana Haines International Competition in 2008, and has also completed NZAMD Contemporary Levels 1, 2, and 3. With a strong foundation in classical ballet and contemporary dance, Amy brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and a commitment to excellence to our studio.
